How Kharkiv Is Losing Its Architectural Heritage

The Ukrainian media Lyuk has released a documentary film about Kharkiv’s architectural heritage and the people who care deeply about preserving it.

The film explores why architecture matters to society, what exactly we lose along with historic buildings, and how we can develop a different attitude toward these spaces — one that is more attentive, responsible, and humane. The documentary features examples of careful restoration, revitalisation, and the people already working to ensure that Kharkiv does not lose its unique identity.

Taras Doronin, CEO of Alter Development, is among speakers appearing in the film.
