Dnipro lighting designers complete a striking project in Kharkiv

The long-suffering city is subjected to brutal enemy shelling every day, yet it still finds ways to offer its residents moments of light and hope.

Thanks to the Dnipro-based company Expolight, one of the historic buildings in the centre of Kharkiv has received new evening illumination.

This was shared by the company’s art director, Mykola Kabluka:

“I am proud to restore a city’s history through light.
Working with historic architecture in Kharkiv today carries a particular significance. This is a city that continues to live and develop despite constant enemy attacks. That is why the lighting project for the Rosenfeld House became a matter of principle for me.
This building is one of the key landmarks of early 20th-century Kharkiv Art Nouveau. It shapes the character of its surroundings and functions as part of the cohesive image of the city centre. Our task was to ensure that the lighting would gently emphasise the architecture, without interfering with its logic or proportions.
I would like to express special thanks to Alter Development — a team that consistently works on the restoration of historic buildings in Kharkiv and delivers complex projects with a deep understanding of their cultural significance. Thanks to this collaboration, the Rosenfeld House has gained a full presence in the city’s nighttime image.
Restoring such sites today goes far beyond a single facade. It is a contribution to preserving urban identity, a professional stance, and work for Kharkiv’s future.”
