Opening of the Restored Lazar Rosenfeld House

The reopening of the Rosenfeld House highlights both the success of restoration efforts and the ongoing transformation of Kharkiv’s historic skyline.

“I happened to attend the opening of the restored Lazar Rosenfeld House at 8 Chornohlazivska Street. The rooftop observation deck is very impressive, but there is almost nothing to look at — old Kharkiv is no longer visible, blocked by modern developments. Only three or four older buildings still break through the skyline. The owner is, of course, a hero — undertaking an almost full restoration of a historic building in times like these.”
