Restoration is nearly complete on the architectural landmark at 8 Chornohlazivska Street (formerly Bazhanova Street) in Kharkiv. The building is a former income-generating residential house of Lazar Rosenfeld, a Master of Pharmacy, constructed in 1913.
The project was originally designed by architect Mykhailo Kolodiazhnyi, but due to a conflict with the client, construction was completed by Mykhailo Roitenberg.
The building is one of two constructed simultaneously on Chornohlazivska Street. Roitenberg is also known for designing the domed building at the corner of Blahovishchenska and Rizdvyana streets, as well as the elegant mansion at 43 Sumska Street.
The restoration aims to preserve Kharkiv’s unique architectural heritage and restore the building’s original appearance.
